Question

Are you able to change how you pay the bill mid month?

My team wants to start up the server now, but we are waiting on a bank to create a bank account specifically for dealing in company charges, we are happy to add interim bank information until the main bank information is readily available, but we are unaware if you are able to change bank information on digital ocean so that the first bill would go towards the new bank account instead of the one entered when creating the account.

Hi @13shafer@gmail.com,

First, let me try and clarify DigitalOcean’s Billing and how it works. DigitalOcean billing cycles are monthly. Your account balance accrues over the course of the calendar month based on the cost of the resources you use. DigitalOcean automatically invoices and charges your account’s primary payment method on the first day of each month for the previous month’s usage, or partway through the month if you exceed your account’s usage threshold.

The above means that you’ll be charged with the card, Paypal, or anything else you are using. If you change your payment method mid-month, you’ll be charged with the one you’ve entered.
