This is not currently possible - however you can automate it through the API once we get DNS implemented: http://digitalocean.uservoice.com/forums/136585-digital-ocean/suggestions/3505946-add-dns-management-to-the-api
It'd be nice to have the option for this to be done automagically.

For instance, If you add the domain example.com to the DNS manager, then created a droplet with hostname "sodium.example.com", you could be given the option to add an A record to example.com for sodium.example.com with the IP for the new droplet.
+1 to automatically adding new droplets to DNS, it should be a checkbox next to the create droplet page. The DNS how-to should be updated to make it clear that this isnt automatic yet as well.
  • +1. DNS should be

    1. checkbox for A rec based on droplet name
    2. checkbox for wildcard
    3. faster - digitalocean has some mighty slow zoneupdates ( maybe if the hard bits can't be done we could still crank up the cron? )

    Go go 2014!
