Breaking: sudo apt get update is CRASHING our sites

Posted on April 16, 2018

Ok so after all the crashes last week, we’ve figured that the following command is CRASHING the websites:

sudo apt get update

That’s a problem as even I know we have to run this command.

We are stumped can anyone help?

Ok so we’ve fixed it. We were able to run the sudo update and it worked (the websites resolved cheaptextbooks dot com etc.).

I am 90%+ sure the issue was due to logging in on the wrong ip.

Thank you for responding @Woet, @aysadx and @lampreyOne.
