Can a snapshot be transferred to another account with the API?

I’m looking to create an easy user interface, coupled with DigitalOceans API so they can login via Oauth and I can spin up a DO server instance in their account that’s ready for production.

The problem lies with server procedures needing to be done - the targeted audience aren’t going to know how to use the command line, let alone what or how to apply server permissions, so I was hoping to transfer a pre-built snapshot and deploy that droplet on their account.

In the API it mentions transferring regions and have seen articles talking about transferring to a different account via web interface, but not seeing how to transfer a snapshot from one account to another via API.

If not possible, is there another way someone would recommend to achieve what I’m trying to do? I’d want a piece of software setup on it as well as things like firewall, permissions, etc. which would be tedious with, say, a shell script that runs on their server.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

This seems to be the only option: https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/images/snapshots/how-to/change-owners/

It would be a security issue if it were possible to transfer snapshots auto via the API imo.

You could probably acomplish the same with rsync tho i’m unsure about it.
