I used to run a bitcoin node but now have some servers that use some altcoin wallets. The wallet.dat file contains the private keys that gives acces access to the coins.

How safe is that file from digital ocean? I am aware of risks from my account being comprised or the server hacked from the internet.

In normal operation we have no access to the contents of your droplet’s disk image. In special circumstances such as if a warrant for the data is presented we can make a copy of the disk image which could be accessed.

This guide, written for law enforcement agencies provides details on what data we have access to or store and what criteria must be met before anything is shared with a law enforcement agency.
