Can I install WHM on DigitalOcean?

  • Posted October 29, 2014

Hello DigitalOcean and DigitalOcean community,

Right now I use server based Web hosting and have a resellrt’so account and use WHM, although I am certainly going to switch to cloud and love DigitalOcean’s affordable pricing, I am wondering if you can use WHM on DigitalOcean? I known I would have to pay extra to cPanel. I like how I can create separate FTP logins for clients and such, and only let them have access to their website… so, unless DigitalOcean would allow me to do this on one account with their control panel, I’d like to use WHM.

Any suggestions/thiughts/ideas/answers?

I looked at their requirements. It looks like you can use a Droplet with CentOS versions 5.x or 6.x to run cPanel on.

Is it expensive for the cPanel?

I’m using ISPConfig now (which is free) in a multi-server setup using digital ocean droplets. 5 separate droplets. It has the ability to configure re-sellers and clients with multiple domains available to customers and re-sellers.

You can install whatever software if it meets the system requirements, etc. As far as I know, WHM isn’t free though.
