Can I load my website, view it in totality, but make it unavailable to the rest of the world?

Getting Started

I am new to DigitalOcean. I am building a SaaS application locally, and would like to load it onto DO in a testing / production mode. ie it is not yet ready for public consumption Therefore I want to be able to view it in totality including the source, but have it unavailable to the public.
How would I do this?

Locally I use Laravel, Linux Mint, MySql, JS.

Many Thanks !

Hi @vincej,

I can see you’ve asked a similar question here -,

I’ve answered it however, I’ll post my answer here as well:

Firstly, you’ll need to create a droplet with a LAMP stack - Apache,MySql,PHP. You can use the following article to achieve that :

Once you have it, you should be able to use a program like Visual Studio Code alongside SSHFS to connect remotely to your laravel project and develop it.

A "LAMP" stack is a group of open source software that is typically installed together to enable a server to host dynamic websites and web apps. This stack typically consists of the Linux operating system, the Apache web server, a MySQL database, and PHP, a dynamic content processor. This tutorial serves as a guide for installing these components on an Ubuntu 18.04 server.
