Question

Can I serve a default page through spaces?

I’m using spaces with a custom domain. Normally it’s just for hosting images, but I was wondering if I could somehow make it so that if someone went directly to the domain, I could display a static web page?

I tried uploading an index.htm and index.html file to the root of the space, but it still just returns an access denied xml error when I try to visit my domain.

Hello,

I believe that this is not doable with the DigitalOcean Spaces, but you could do it with the App Platform.

You can have up to 3 free static websites hosted on the App Platform:

Here is a quick video on how to do that as well:

Hope that this helps! Best, Bobby
