Yes, you can use the $5 Droplet to host your websites, it should have enough resources available as long as your website is not too heavy.
**Billing **:
DigitalOcean billing cycles are monthly. On the first day of each month, we invoice and charge your account’s primary payment method for the previous month’s usage.
Invoices list the charges an account has accrued in a billing cycle. Charges include resource usage, like the Droplets you have run, how long you have run them, their size, and their cost. If your account does not use any resources, you do not receive an invoice.
As for the customers per day limit, it’s hard to pinpoint it. This depends on your website’s mostly. Having said that, if needed you can always go ahead and upgrade your droplet with more resources.
