WordPress DNS

This is the 2nd domain that I’ve purchased from Gandi & hosted through Digital Ocean where I’ve received the following message:

  1. Error establishing a database connection

I then turned off & turned back on the droplet. I also resized the droplet from 1 GB to 2 GB.

  1. On the second day, I now get this message “’s server DNS address could not be found.”

My doman is pointed towards:

It’s a wordpress site. 2 GB Memory / 40 GB Disk / NYC2 - Ubuntu WordPress on 14.04

I don’t understand what the issue is. Please help!

It isn’t enough to just point the domain towards DO. You also need to do some configuration here. Follow this guide and report back - How To Set Up a Host Name with DigitalOcean. Also have in mind that www and non-www domains are different.

  • Hi, I’ve already created the droplet & set up the Wordpress site over a week ago. Everything worked fine until 2 days after I created the website.

    • I pinged and get the following but can’t access the website via internet browser

      64 bytes from icmpseq=43 ttl=53 time=25.621 ms
      64 bytes from icmp
      seq=44 ttl=53 time=23.608 ms
      64 bytes from icmpseq=45 ttl=53 time=36.221 ms
      64 bytes from icmp
      seq=46 ttl=53 time=71.195 ms
