Can't login to wordpress user on Ubuntu

Hello, I have the boilerplate Ubuntu/Wordpress droplet configuration. I can't seem to login to the wordpress user through SSH or the Console access. Other accounts I have created allow me to login just fine. Ultimately, I'm just trying to create an FTP account that only has read/write access to the /home/wordpress directory so that I can give access to my web designer. Thanks for the help! Josh

What's the output of
ssh -vvv wordpress@IP
? Make sure you run that command locally and not on the droplet.

No need to use FTP, when SFTP is much more secure and easier to use (compared to two of the more popular FTP servers: vsFTPd & proFTP). See How To Use Filezilla to Transfer and Manage Files Securely on your VPS.
