When I connect to my droplet with VNC I can’t open the terminal application. You may say “oh just use ssh” or “use the terminal on the website”, but I wan’t to use the terminal in VNC.

Try installing xterm and see if that one opens. You can also try reinstalling you current terminal as well.

The OS is Ubuntu 18.04 x64 and I have xfce4 as the Desktop environment
Heya,
It would be nice if you could tell us a bit more about the OS you are using and if you installed a Desktop environment(like Gnome) before attempting a VNC connection.
