Cannot login as root in phpmyadmin, installed on Ubuntu LAMP 16.04 Droplet

MySQL Ubuntu 16.04

Hi all,

I have installed phpmyadmin on my LAMP droplet using this tutorial

but I cannot login as root user using the password i setup during installation.

Any ideas?

Purge Mysql and install it again with a new password

For anyone in the same boat:

sudo apt-get remove dbconfig-mysql

sudo apt-get purge mysql*

sudo apt-get autoremove

sudo apt-get autoclean

sudo apt-get install mysql-server
