CentOS vs Opencart - installation problem.

Posted on April 25, 2016

Guys, since last week I’m struggling to find the way how to change access rights/permissions to install Opencart on CentOS. Whatever I do, it still telling me files and folders “Unwritable”. Already changed ownership to root, apache, changed permissions to 777 with no luck. Is there some kind of a primary/above the other security layer which controll everything ? How can I get access and install Opencart ? URGENT ;(

Thank you for response but never mind. Already sorted it out. CentOS 7 by the way :)

Hello there,

Usually, you will give the ownership of our OpenCart files to the apache user by running the following command:

  1. sudo chown www-data:www-data * -R
  2. sudo usermod -a -G www-data username

OpenCart is also available as a one-click installation in our marketplace portal which you can check here:

The OpenCart application will be deployed on a Ubuntu 18.04 droplet.
