Since the Community site doesn’t remember me between two visits (which is really annoying) please could you at least store a cookie that remembers I already closed the “Welcome to the new Community!” popup about a thousand times? ;-)

You’re absolutely right. I’ve seen this too. We’re in the process of making quite a few changes to the community site, so things are in a state of flux right now. I’ll make sure there’s an issue for this in our internal bug tracker.
