I installed ubuntu and LXDE and I was trying to use the embedded vnc here but the virtual mouse pointer is one inch above my own desktops pointer and I can’t click the little start button in the corner. Anyway to fix this?

The web console is intended as an emergency method to access your droplet should you be unable to access it via ssh. As such, it is not optimized for interaction with the mouse or GUI applications or environments. If you want to run a desktop environment on your droplet we recommend running a VNC service within your droplet. This tutorial will assist you in setting this up.

VNC is a connection system that allows you to manage your Ubuntu server with a graphical desktop environment. With VNC, you can use your keyboard and mouse to interact with a graphical display of your remote server, making it easier to work with the server.
  • I’m not trying to be rude, but come on, that’s a lame answer, DigitalOcean.

I AM trying to access it as an emergency. And I can’t get it to function because I can’t click the top of the screen and open a terminal window.

Make your software work. Don’t blame the user!
