Hey Digitalocean Community, I’m kind of new to this and I’d like to ask if it’s possible to deploy a droplet and make it serve as a desktop (not the command line version) that you can connect remotely from anywhere?

Absolutely! We have created some user-data scripts to make this easy to do. Grab one of the scripts (whichever desktop environment you prefer) from that link and on the create droplet page check the “user-data” box and paste in the script.
The software will be automatically installed and configured as soon as the droplet boots up the first time. You will then be able to log in using the x2go client for your operating system.
