Hello,
This is probably a ridiculously stupid question. I’m looking to host a website on Digital Ocean. Is a MySQL database included in a Droplet Basic package? I found mixed answers online. One claimed it was included, the other said you have to pay extra for a database.

In general, once you buy a Droplet, you are free to choose any softwares on the Droplet as long as you have the space on the Droplet.
We also have our Marketplace 1-Clicks, where you get the desired softwares already install on the Droplet, but you will need to just configure it.
Example for MySQL is :
https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/mysql https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/wordpress
You get different combinations already installed on it. If you don’t want something like that, you can always create an empty Droplet and then install the desired software. Refer to below link:
