  • Sir,

I would like to know whether you have data centers in South Africa or not?
If yes, please tell me the location.

    Thanks,

Our 2 current locations are:

New York, USA
Amsterdam, Netherlands

We do have plans to open an Asian data center but do not have an ETA at this time.
Are these hosted, operated and managed by Digital Ocean? OR using infrastructures like SoftLayer or AWS or something?
I'm sure Digital Ocean either colocates their own hardware or simply rents rack space from datacenters.
We use Tier1 datacenters for collocation including Equinix and Telecity.
  • Tier1 data centers are the worst of the lot.

Tier 1 = Non-redundant capacity components (single uplink and servers).
    Tier 2 = Tier 1 + Redundant capacity components.
    Tier 3 = Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Dual-powered equipments and multiple uplinks.
Tier 4 = Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Tier 3 + all components are fully fault-tolerant including uplinks, storage, chillers, HVAC systems, servers etc. Everything is dual-powered.

Really excited to hear you guys are planning to open a PoP in Asia. I hope you guys will consider opening in Hong Kong's Silicon Harbour which was recently mentioned as a top 4 tech start up scene outside Silicon Valley on Forbes.

Not to mention many of your competitors are already in SG and/or JP, but the thing to note is that HK is right bang in the middle of SE Asia, in any case, I'm looking forward to getting an Asian server from you guys in the near future (hopefully you can give us some ETA before hand)
What is the recommended way to have our droplets running redundant in both the NY and SF data centers or is our droplets automatically running redundantly in all 3 data centers?
@ty: A droplet can only exist in one datacenter. You'll have to create three droplets, one in each datacenter.

If you make a snapshot from a droplet you can transfer it to any location and restore it again. Not exactly what you're looking for but may save you from downtime.
I am really looking forward on an Asia or Australia location. Any movement on this? Seems it was in the plans a year ago.
Wish to have a data center in HK too :)
Singapore guys... It's been too long
Need a data center in Asia..
Need a datacenter in Singapore too ...
Yes need a datacenter in singapore
hope it will be coming soon :)
Honk Kong or Singapore would be great to serve China. Hope it can be available soon.

If you will offer server in Singapore I'll move 500$/month project to your hosting immediately. Please! We suffer with cloud solutions available there!
@dvporg: We're planning on launching Singapore by the end of February. Stay tuned!
Yes, please start up Singapore data centre. I am about to sign up with other local providers when I heard about DO's Singapore plan. Is there any firm go live and pricing plans?
@pkseet: Soon :] Pricing will be the same for all regions.
Hello, do you have ip for sg datacenter? Need to know ping variable :.:-)
@erica: speedtest-sgp1.digitalocean.com
Thank you Digital Ocean for new Singapore Data center.
Wishlist: Singapore and London please. Amsterdam is simply too slow from London and other busy cities thanks to the Euro networks.
I think that it's fantastic year growing so quickly. I do agree a London data center must be built without any question people still care about IP origin and the growth of your data centers in especially Asia where Google is not the preferred search engine IP addresses matter. I would like to see Toronto I know it's very close to New York however if you're going to create a CDN off of your data centers you will need as many POPs as possible I would love to know more about your intentions for content delivery network. Considering the amount of speed you can pick up by using an edge cast ADN ( not a typo look it up) are you going to be offering something special that could actually accelerate dynamic and static content?
WishList Frankfurt, Toronto, London and Tokyo
Do you guys have any plans to launch infrastructure in Ashburn?

Where in California is you San Francisco datacenter located?
