Can you share a bit more information about your current configuration and the current workflow that you are looking to utilize docker to streamline?

  • Well, right now, I am trying to work on getting things as detached as possible from a droplet so that it can easily be moved to another one. Perhaps also be moved to a high availability setup -using floating IPs, heartbeat and what not.

Part of this I guess is I am looking to see about saving persistent data from docker containers into a couple -perhaps three, for postgres, static django files, and perhaps some other things needed- digitalocean block storage volumes that can then be attached to a new droplet if need be when the containers are moved.

This would be part of the production workflow. I want to see what workflows could work best. Since we are using docker for development, I also am trying to figure out a workflow to seamlessly deploy to production. This is really all complicated and what not, which is why I am looking for guidance -because I think things could be more simple than I think.
