Digitalocean has a plan with node.js implemented or we need to install it?

Posted on January 29, 2021

I´ve seen that DigitalOcean have a page were they offers a solution with node.js implemented, but in the rest of pages they say that we need to configure a VPS to use node.js. We´re trying to implement Angular and loopback 4.

Hi there,

There are 2 things that I could suggest:

  • You could either use the New DigitalOcean App Platform which provides out of the box support for popular languages and frameworks like Node.js.

For more information you could take a look at the product page here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/products/app-platform/

And you could go through this tutorial on how to deploy Node.js to the App platform:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-deploy-a-next-js-app-to-app-platform

  • A second option is to use a standard Droplet. You could use the 1-Click Node.js installation image from the DigitalOcean Marketplace:

https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/nodejs

Hope that this helps. Regards, Bobby
