Disable http -> https redirects on digital ocean app services

I have a Digital Ocean app service which needs to be called by a client that cannot support HTTPS. Therefore I need to expose it via HTTP. I cannot find a setting to disable or alter this. Any ideas would be very gratefully received!

That’s an unsual request given that usually it’s the other way around, having a redirection from HTTP to HTTPS. Anyway, this is not possible at the time however to get your idea heard you should post it on DigitalOcean’s idea board where such requests get discussed and if approved later on get added as features :

The DigitalOcean App Platform does not currently provide a direct option in the UI to disable HTTPS or the automatic HTTP to HTTPS redirects. This is part of DigitalOcean’s security-first approach, ensuring that all communications are encrypted by default.
The best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to our Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.
For the time being, what you could do is deploy your app on a Droplet instead where you would have full control over the server and be able to make any configuration changes as needed.
