Question

dns improperly prpogating?

I created an ‘A’ record for thejiggsproject.com, pointing back to my droplet (159.65.225.184) however, using whatsmydns.net, it appears that the name is registered to two different IP addresses (neither of which are the above) and, is only registered on one DNS server out of Leipzig, GM. I registered the name with godaddy a few days ago. Interestingly enough, whois is displaying the correct nameservers for digitalocean. Soooo, I’m not understanding what’s happening.

Hello, @493c67b3c91a4e6790e6b76f984a07

The DNS will usually take up few good hours to update. The full propagation time is around 24 hours, but can take up to 48 hours. This is mainly due to DNS cache from the ISPs.

The site is loading fine on my end (at the moment there is a new/fresh WordPress installation that loads when you visit the site).

Heya,

According to whois, you are using the DigitalOcean Nameservers and the A record is 159.65.225.184.

Please note that DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours and while this is not often the case, due to some dns cache it is possible to happen.

In anyway, I can see everything is fine now and works as inteded.
