Question

Do DigitalOcean Load Balancers have a request header size limit or other size limits?

Are there any request header size limits I should be aware of for DO Load Balancers? I don’t see any listed in Limits doc here: https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/networking/load-balancers/details/limits/

I’ve observed an error in nginx that indicates upstream is closing the connection when my request header size exceeds 6kb.

The only thing upstream of nginx in my case is DO Load Balancers.

Hi there,

As far as I know only when using UDP in forwarding rules, the maximum payload size of a UDP packet sent to the load balancer is 1424 bytes.

Would you mind sharing the exact error that you are seeing in your Nginx error log when your request header exceeds 6kb?

Best,

Bobby
