What is the reason for this report?

Do I need the . at the end of the name server?

Should my nameserver be like this: ns1.digitalocean.com or like this: ns1.digitalocean.com.

It really depends on your registrar. Some require that you add the . at the end, others do it for you.

For example, with NameCheap, the . isn’t required when changing a domains’ DNS as they accept the DNS as:

ns1.digitalocean.com
ns2.digitalocean.com
ns3.digitalocean.com
