DO Ubuntu 12 DNS and Zpanel

Trying to use DO and Zpanel for multiple domains and having issues getting the additional sites to go to my DO VPS.

Zpanel has a Domain and DNS setup section - I add a domain and setup the DNS records within this area, however the info doesnt seem to propogate. In the zpanel dns there are ns1 and ns2 ns1.mydomain.com entries and at my registrar I set the dns records to those ns records.

Does this sound correct or do I need to do something in the DO DNS records also? Or do I use the DO dns setup to set the ns records?

I can’t get it to work too. In the end I used freedns.

It sounds like your following the correct procedure, however, you might be having issues with ZPanel properly restarting BIND to apply your records after being updated. I strongly recommend looking into using Virtualmin GPL. I’ve been using it for years and while the interface isn’t the prettiest, it’s got lots of features and works great. I even have my Virtualmin setup with three separate DNS servers and it automatically pushes DNS zones to the slaves for me.
