HackTJ is Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology’s annual overnight hackathon event organized by the Coding Lady Colonials, a female-run computer science club. Each year, we host over 500 motivated high school students - ranging from Northern Virginia locals to students coming from as far as Georgia - and providing them with everything they need to expand their coding knowledge. Students spend the 24-hours at our school attending workshops to learn new coding techniques, meeting peers and company representatives, and, of course, completing incredible projects. Last year, some of our standouts included HANDTalk, a wearable sign language translator, IoToaster, an automated household assistant within a bright red toaster, and Financia, a mobile app that tracks user finances. We are currently looking for sponsors for our 2019 event and hope DigitalOcean would be interested!
