Does the 1-click packages (Rails) installs some security tools like Fail2ban or DenyHosts ?

...or do we have to manage all security even with the 1-click installers ?

Not sure; but you could easily check by looking in the /etc directory; to see if either of those programs are installed.

Yes, but I asked this because I have at the time configured a droplet with CentOS from scratch (so I don't want to erase it just to see).

You will have to install fail2ban or similar programs yourself.
