For data integrity reasons, DigitalOcean don’t provide the ability to downsize a Droplet through the control panel, but you can still switch to a smaller Droplet using common migration strategies. Basically, you would need to create a snapshot of the droplet, then destroy it and create a new $5 droplet based off the snapshot you just took.
