Does Digitalocean support the “dpl” command for deployment, as referenced in the gitlab documentation?
Alternatively, what script is recommended to produce the same result?
Add comments here to get more clarity or context around a question. To answer a question, use the “Answer” field below.
Yes, you can install the dpl command on any machine.
You just need to run the following:
gem install dpl
Hope that this helps!
Thanks very much for the reply, Bobby. I appreciate your help.
I have installed dpl as you suggested.
However, DigitalOcean does not appear on the list of Supported Providers, so when I use “–provider=digitalocean” in the GitLab .gitlab-ci.yml file, the pipeline fails with a NameError associated with Digitalocean.
Are you familiar with this behaviour? Or are you aware of a workaround?
Once again, many thanks for your advice.
Ah yes indeed you are right, initially I thought that you were only referring regarding the installation itself, sorry about that.
Indeed as you said DigitalOcean is not listed as supported provider. I would suggest commenting on this issue here and confirming that this would be a beneficial feature:
Besides that, you could take a look at this guide here on how to setup CI/CD with Gitlab:

I have around 4 TB of data that I want to transfer to my droplet in DO from my AWS. IS there a service in DO where I can mail the hard drive containing the data and DO staff would transfer the data locally as Amazon does in their [Import/Export](https://aws.amazon.com/importexport/disk/) ?
I remember Digital Ocean used to provide SSD VPS. I have a question now.
Is Digital Ocean Providing VPS or dedicated servers?
Cloud Servers here are referred to VPS or dedicated servers since I remember they don't provide dedicated servers anytime soon.
