  • Same problem here.. I drop external connections on port 22 due china brute force attacks. I was planing to use console but not accepting password now :) Well I guess i have to figure out something else.

  • After playing some more I figured a solution actually console changes keyboard layout to English so I have to use English keyboard layout when writing special chars such as # @ $ _ etc..

That sollution dont work.
I rebuilded ubuntu 14 and now i cant login at all.
The login screen just resets

The default user is root and the password for that user is what you receive via email.

If you’re still having issues, you can reset the password in the DigitalOcean control panel:

Of course, if you use SSH keys you won’t need to worry about the password at all. Check out:

How To Use SSH Keys with PuTTY on DigitalOcean Droplets (Windows users)

I’ve the same error, i created the dropet, but when i put the password, show error on console.

I emailed myself the changed root password twice. Trying to set up filezilla but the console access login keeps telling me my login is incorrect. I’ve put root as the username and the new emailed root password. Help

change your keyboard layout to english and you should be fine
