Do we know how much the network speed expect for the droplet compute?

I assume they are not the same for all shapes.

  • I tried using iperf, average speed is 1.9~2 Gbits/s (~200Mbytes/s) inter-droplet (private) network

    Connecting to a t3.small instance the performance shows 350Mbits/s (~30Mbytes/s)

    Using small or big instances, performance was the same :/

It is really important topic. People asking this questions for more than 3 years and still no improvement at that point.

So please at least

  • Increase network out speed depend on droplet size or set higher level for all droplets. There must be a way to get 10gbit per second network out speed when needed.

  • Or offer a way to buy more network speed.

As a summary it is pain point for most of customers; so why don’t you offer a solution that widely impacted problem ?

Load Balancer

Load balancers supports 10.000 concurrent request per second. So imagine that you have an ecommerce website with Droplets. And you created a campaign

  • Imagine that you ve sent 500.000 sms or push notifications to your customers. With current network out limits you cannot offer service to your customers with current droplets . Because you have network out speed limit as 1gbit (100 mb per second approx) and you have 10.000 load balancer limit

10000 x 100kb = 1gigabyte (10 gbit per second) network out speed required

So please increase network out speed and load balancer concurrent connection limit
