I have set up an ubuntu server to host a Rails app with nginx and unicorn. I will be sending emails via Mandrill recommends setting DKIM and SPF settings to improve the deliverability rate of emails. I purchased my domains through Godaddy and, according to this article, it tells us to use "Parallels Plesk Panel" to create the txt records to set DKIM and SPF I'm not sure if this is something I install on my server via an apt-get command and then configure?

Following the instructions of a tutorial in German, I ran these three commands to install plesk on my server

chmod 777 -R one-click-installer

Once I got to the third part ./one-click-installer, it gave me this error

Warning! Unable to determine the host or domain name of your computer. Setting it to localhost.localdomain

ERROR while trying to check the hostname Check the error reason(see log file: /tmp/plesk_11.0.9_installation.log), fix and try again

Am I supposed to install this on my mac rather than my vps?

How should I uninstall it from my server?
You do not have to use Parallels to create a SPF record. It was probably selected by default, you can choose which panel you use and godaddy will provide information on how to set it up.
