I have set up an ubuntu server to host a Rails app with nginx and unicorn. I will be sending emails via Mandrillapp.com. Mandrill recommends setting DKIM and SPF settings to improve the deliverability rate of emails. I purchased my domains through Godaddy and, according to this article, it tells us to use “Parallels Plesk Panel” to create the txt records to set DKIM and SPF

I’m not sure if this is something I install on my server via an apt-get command and then configure?

You do not have to use Parallels to create a SPF record.
