I’m adding a subdomain to example.com using https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-apache-virtual-hosts-on-ubuntu-18-04 as a guide.
If I have the following virtual host files
example.com.conf & example.com-ssl.com sub.example.com.conf & sub.example.com-ssl.com
do I need enable all files i.e.
sudo a2ensite example.com.conf sudo a2ensite example.com-ssl.conf sudo a2ensite sub.example.com.conf sudo a2ensite sub.example.com-ssl.conf

Hello, Yes, you will need to enable all of these config files. Because if you do not enable the without SSL files your request to the HTTP will not be redirected to HTTPS.
