Error 503 Service Unavailable

I have installed a ubuntu (16.04) server on a droplet. I have hosted only one website on it. But the server is frequently throws the “503 Service Unavailable” error. This problem occurs every 3-4 days. To resolve this I have to restart the droplet services.

Why does this error happen so often? Is there a permanent solution to this?

Thanks in advanced.

Hi @nitinaren,

So it seems some of your services fail and need to be restarted. This could be due to a lot of reasons but mainly and most commonly due to the lack of resources. Having said that, this is not a 100% certain. What I’ll suggest is when you get these errors again, check the status of the services, see if they’ve failed. If they’ve failed, check the reason, having the reason will help you track down the problem.

Alternatively, check your error logs for each service, see if any errors are logged there or if anything stands out.

Without the exact reason behind the failure, it will be hard to find a solution. First, let’s find the error.
