Frequent database connection error

MySQL Nginx Ubuntu

I have a droplet with Nginx & MariaDB. There are several WordPress sites are installed, mainly blogs with authentic plugins.
I have been facing severe issues like database connection errors frequently - once weekly and all my sites go down.
Then I have to restart - PHP FPM, Nginx and MariaDB manually from terminal and all the sites go up. This becomes a continuous process every week. So, it is a huge pain and I want to resolve this issue permanently.

Please suggest how to resolve this.

Check for oom killer in /var/log/syslog. If it’s there, reduce memory usage or upgrade your droplet.
