Getting 404 bluehost error

Hello, I have just setup my web application onto ubuntu. Also configured apache to work with tomcat. The application works perfectly fine when I access the website using a url having the ip address of the droplet. Something like But if I try with the logical name assigned to this IP address (, I get sucess page many time and a lot of times I get 404 error and a page of is displayed saying that resource being tried to access is unavailable or moved temporarily. PLease help in resolving this issue. I have checked all logs including access logs as well and there are no hits for 404 error.

Sounds like a DNS issue. Use the tool @ WebDNSTools to troubleshoot.
Thank you. But it is random, if I have to split 60% of time it works and 40% not. I will anyway try the tool but if you can comment on random behaviour?
you are a start yes there is a dns problem and I get a message

"No name servers found for
Received answer from
A search was performed starting with the root servers, but no NS records were found for this domain."

strangely the pinging succeeds, sorry but I am a novice in this area and appreciate any pointers to resolve this issue
Where are you hosting your DNS records? Have you considered transferring them to the DigitalOcean DNS Manager?
