I can’t install extension into my joomla site because there’s no write privileges. I’m using serverpilot with ubuntu 12.04.

You need to grant Joomla permission to write to /srv/users/serverpilot/app/joomla:

sudo chown -R serverpilot:serverpilot /srv/users/serverpilot/app/joomla

Replace joomla with your app’s name.

  • Greta answer. Small correction: the directory is “apps” rather than “app”, so that command should look like this (which will fix the perms for all apps):

    sudo chown -R serverpilot:serverpilot /srv/users/serverpilot/apps
  • ssh message:
    chown: invalid user: ‘serverpilot:serverpilot’
Joomla 3.4.3 on ubuntu 14.04 application droplet
    any idea?
