Having problems directing my domain to my droplet.

Posted on April 30, 2018

So I set up a server on my droplet with the ip 138.68.110.238 and I got the domain pokequester.info from namecheap. I followed the official DNS guide on DigitalOcean and my settings on DO and Namecheap look like this currently: Settings I am unable to properly redirect the domain to my ip though. If i ping the domain I end up on ip 162.255.119.159 I’m very much a novice on this so I’m not sure how to set things up. Does anyone have a clue?

I manged to solve it and it was just just an issue with patience…

Good if it works. Here’s what I see:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>nslookup pokequester.info
Server: UnKnown
Address: 192.168.0.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: info.domain.name
Address: 198.245.51.138
Aliases: pokequester.info.domain.name

Yes. DNS changes take at least a minimum of 5 minutes to propagate and could go up to 48 to 72 hrs.
