Help in changing Authoritative DNS Server

Posted on July 11, 2020

I purchased a domain on Godaddy and have droplet on Digital ocean. I want the Authoritative DNS Server to be ns1.miragious.com & ns2.miragious.com which is a Ubuntu droplet.

A miragious.com directs to 164.90.208.219 A ns2.miragious.com directs to 164.90.208.219 NS miragious.com directs to ns2.miragious.com. A *.miragious.com directs to 164.90.208.219 A ns1.miragious.com directs to 164.90.208.219 NS miragious.com directs to ns1.miragious.com.

Am not able to add ns1.miragious.com & ns2.miragious.com directly to Godaddy as it says it is not available hence currently I have changed the setting in godaddy to point to ns1.digitalocean.com & ns2.digitalocean.com

Hi there @asuran01012020,

What you need to do in this case is to create Glue records via your GoDaddy account. GoDaddy refers to them as host names. To do that login to GoDaddy -> go to your domains -> then click on your domain -> go to DNS management -> scroll to the bottom and click on “Host names”.

Create your glue records there as normal.

For more information I could suggest going through this article here on How To Create Vanity or Branded Nameservers with DigitalOcean Cloud Servers .
