Hi! I created a droplet a few months ago, disabled the root access and created a admin user instead. Now i made so changes to the project and wants to update it. The admin password is not working. Also the root password method is also not working(because i disabled it). Any help in resetting/recovering my password.

Hi @Kishon,

You’ll need to use the Recovery Console to SSH and resolve the full disk. The Recovery Console provides out-of-band access and is available regardless of your network settings. It emulates the access you would have if you were sitting down with a keyboard and monitor attached to the actual server. You can use this feature to log in and revert bad settings to regain normal access.

You can follow this documentation on how to enter your into your Droplet:

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/droplets/resources/recovery-console/

Basically, you’ll reset your root password and use it via the root user on the Recovery console to connect to it.

From there you can enable PasswordAuthentication and connect with your root password from your terminal rather than using the recovery console.
Hope this helps!
