Hosting a SaaS PHP/MySQL web application

Posted on January 6, 2015

Hi I am building a PHP web application ( to be used by about 25 customers ) with MySQL database using partitionning strategy for scalabilty purpose.

Can I host my web app on Digital Ocean? If yes, what pricing plan should I choose to start my business. (I mean Server requirement : Memory, number of core, espace disk)

Have a nice day

Yep, This can be run on DigitalOcean happily.

As for requirements… I guess the $20/month option would be a nice good start.

Mysql likes memory, so 2GB is a good start ( and cheap ) You can always upgrade at a later date.

My guess is 25 users on a small PHP and Mysql based webapp will run on almost anything. But the $20 is a good start.
