Hi. I’m selling digital products (500mb - 1gb) with woocommerce. Until now, the product files are stored at amazon S3 and I use a woocommerce S3 storage plugin that allows me to securly implement woocommerce with the specific S3 bucket. I use the X-Accel-Redirect/X-Sendfile download method.
Unfortunately 2 out of 10 customers have problems with the downloads and run into corrupt archives. My guess is that this is a timeout issue.
My priority is to solve this issue but could not find any solution/help neither from aws s3 nor woocommerce.
So why not ditch S3 and use digitalocean instead.
My shop site will remain on siteground.
Does it make sense to use digitalocean spaces cdn to resolve this issue?
And is there maybe someone who sells large files with woocommerce that are stored at digitalocean and uses the X-Accel-Redirect/X-Sendfile download method nd has no corrupt archive’ issues?
If this is the case I haven’t found a tutorial on how to implement the product file’s url into woocommerce product fields. Can you point me in the right direction?
I really hope to find help and a solution here. I don’t know if changing the download method to Redirect would be a solution as well.
These timeouts and corrupt archives are super annoying.
Thanks in advance. Cheers, Michael

Hi Micheal,
I have the exact same problem. It’s glad to see I wasn’t the only one.
Did you manage to solve it by using Digital Ocean?
Please let me know, I don’t understand how to download the files from the Spaces within Woocommerce.
I would love to know how to do that!!
Best, Mark
Hello Michael,
Actually, you can do this by using the DigitalOcean CDN. DigitalOcean spaces object now included built-in CDN, you can use it. Or, you may have a special dedicated CDN from DigitalOCean. It is pretty much simple, you have to upload your products here and copy their CDN URL and then use any WordPress plugin which supports CDN implementation. Like you can use best Caching Plugin Wprocket, Wp Super Cache, and others. In all these above plugins there is an option of CDN, in this way you can easily host your products without any issue and error.
Cheers
