I am setting up a short URL service(abc.com) with a custom short domain(ab.c). To use a custom short domain, I need to park it and enable SSL. I have tried to enable SSL from setting->security but SSL still not appearing.

Please help to setup custom short domain with SSL

Hello,

The managed SSL certificates via the DigitalOcean control panel are mainly intended to be used with the Managed Load Balancers.

In your case, I could suggest two options:

  • Create a Droplet with Nginx via this link here:

https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/lemp

Then follow the steps here on how to get a free SSL certificate:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-secure-nginx-with-let-s-encrypt-on-ubuntu-20-04

  • Alternatively, what you could do is add your domain name to Cloudflare and that way you would get a free SSL certificate automatically through them directly.

Hope that this helps.
Best,
Bobby

Let's Encrypt is a Certificate Authority (CA) that provides an easy way to obtain and install free TLS/SSL certificates, thereby enabling encrypted HTTPS on web servers. It simplifies the process by providing a software client, Certbot, that attempts to automate most (if not all) of the required steps. In this tutorial, you will use Certbot to obtain a free SSL certificate for Nginx on Ubuntu 20.04, and set up your certificate to renew automatically.
