To restart the Apache please enter the following line using a root-enabled user:

service httpd restart

If that doesn’t work, try this command:

service apache2 restart

Good luck :)

  • That´s perfect thanks so far a lot !!
The next problem is,that my login into the console is my email adress, how can I put in @

  • To login into your SSH account you need to enter the credentials sent to you by email when you first created your droplet (server).
That most likely need to be ‘root’ and a long scrambled password.

  • this is a desaster, the login is not working and noboy knows the login name :-(

  • thanks good, we got the access now and we restarted the webserver. We got the green “ok” but the website is still down ( any idea?

Please provide your Apache configuration and the error log file.
