How can I use a droplet as proxy for my laptop?

Is it possible to configure a droplet as proxy so I can browse using the droplet IP address?
What kind of software has to be installed on both my laptop and the droplet?
How can I secure the proxy just for me (username / password)?
On my laptop, I have OS X Yosemite.
I appreciate any info on this topic because I’m a newbie.

OpenVPN is a full-featured open source Secure Socket Layer (SSL) VPN solution that accommodates a wide range of configurations. In this tutorial, we'll set up an OpenVPN server on a Droplet and then configure access to it from Windows, OS X, iOS and Android. This tutorial will keep the installation and configuration steps as simple as possible for these setups.

Wow, you’re fast Woet! It seems that a VPN is what I’ve been looking for.
I have to test it but thanks so far!
