How dependable is DO DNS service?

Posted on May 2, 2019

I’m curious about moving DNS from Namecheap’s half-assed solution to DO, but when I went to add a domain it wanted to add it to a particular droplet. Having DNS for web, email, etc. attached to a particular droplet seems like a disaster waiting to happen, or at least a huge hassle when adding/deleting droplets, is there a way to set up DNS for a domain that doesn’t depend on a particular droplet?

O.K. it looks like I actually attache a domain to a project, not a droplet…that sounds much better!
