Question

How do i connect to the MySQL database to see username, and password to be able to connect programs to the database.

I used the MySQL app for my droplet which is “Ubuntu MySQL on 18.04”. I have no idea how to access and manipulate the MySQL database, I assume i have to connect using the Console somehow - but it asks me for a username and password to use the console and I do not know what the username and password is.

I just need to be able to host a MySQL database and get the username and password so i can edit and manage the tables in like myPhpAdmin or something because i have no idea how i can access and manipulate the MySQL database.

On the server:

  • The MySQL root password is saved in /root/.digitalocean_password
  • Certbot is preinstalled. Run it to configure HTTPS.
  • A default HTML page is located at /var/www/html/index.html and can be removed or replaced.
