Question

How do I do Step 4 of Migrating Wordpress site if it says "ERROR"

Hi, So I’m following this support page here: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-migrate-wordpress-from-shared-hosting-to-a-cloud-server-with-zero-downtime But when I am typing in sudo a2ensite yourdomain.com after I’ve made the document, it says ERROR: Site yourdomain.com does not exist! For privacy I have covered up my domain name.

Hello there,

You can double-check that you’ve created the virtual host with the same name you’re using the a2ensite command - replace yourdomain.com and username accordingly.

Regards

The a2ensite command (I believe) uses the filename of the configuration file you are enabling so if the file is mysite.conf you would do a2ensite mysite

If you continue to run into trouble you can also skip the a2ensite command by copying your configuration file from the sites-available to the sites-enabled folder in /etc/apache2/ and restarting apache with service apache2 restart
