How do I enable msqli on my server?

Posted on December 13, 2016

I’m trying to use a script, but I’m getting an error. Apparently the error is caused by not having “mysqli_connect” enabled. Could anybody offer any insight to correcting this? I tried using different versions of PHP with no fix.

I am using ServerPilot as well. Thanks!

The mysqli package is shipped seperately from the core php packages. You can install it with:

sudo apt-get install php-mysql

Once that completes you’ll want to restart Apache (if you’re using it with mod_php):

service apache2 restart

Or php-fpm if you’re using nginx or another web server using fpm for PHP:

service php-fpm restart
